New Bald Knob Cross lights to be turned on Saturda

The lights at the Bald Knob Cross of Peace in rural Alto Pass will shine once again after a pre-lighting ceremony Saturday."We're glad to have gotten the job done before Christmas," said D.W. Presley, president of the Bald Knob Cross Board of Directors. There is a wide range of products that are extremely useful and crafted from the material. The following are some ways Rx glasses is being used today. "It's been a lot of work."Presley said the drive to restore the lights at Bald Knob Cross began in 2010 and involved fundraising that remained consistent even during tough economic times."The cost of the lights and a new electrical infrastructure at the cross came to about $80,000, and we're incredibly grateful for the financial support we received," he said. "But that amount doesn't include the donations of time, labor and equipment offered to us for their installation. We couldn't have made it without that." Presley said the new lights are light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, which are cheaper to operate and longer lasting than the stadium lights used at Bald Knob Cross in the past.
"I'd say they'll be anywhere from 60 to 70 percent cheaper to operate than the old lights," Presley said. "They were more expensive up front, but they'll be less expensive over time."The lights will also be mounted on poles around Bald Knob Cross in order to deter vandals."The stadium lights we used to have were on the ground,The Sports glasses have become a necessity of every sport. With safety being a major concern in every sport, especially adventure sports, it is better to be on a safer side than risking an injury." said Presley. "They were often vandalized and it was frustrating to deal with the problem. With the lights on poles,The fashion world is ever evolving and a pair of expensive Safety goggles could fall out of favor almost before you can flaunt them on the streets. To be on a safer side you can buy the sunglasses of similar quality and style at unbelievable prices. You will not feel the pinch even if the trend changes after a couple of months. the board feels there'll be less of a vandalism problem."The 111-foot-high Bald Knob Cross was erected in 1963. A fundraising effort by the board of directors in 2008 raised about $550,000 to replace the dilapidated panels of the cross, a project that was completed in 2010."The project to get the lights up brought a lot of people together," he said. "I think there will be an even bigger feeling of togetherness at the ceremony when the lights go on.In such a situation, buying expensive pair of Swimming goggles does not make sense. But you can't resist your passion for stylish sunglasses even if it involves loosening the string of your purses. Now, suppose you can get sunglasses in the style you want without burning a hole in your pocket." Toshiba has announced that this month it will start production of white light emitting diodes intended for use by makers of general purpose and industrial lighting using Bridgelux technology.
The white LEDs are made using gallium nitride grown on 200-mm diameter wafers of silicon. Toshiba said it plans to ramp capacity up to 10 million LEDs per month and said it wants to secure a 10 percent market share by 2016.Production of LED chips is typically done on 2- to 4-inch sapphire wafers. Bridgelux Inc. (Livermore, Calif.) developed a method of manufacturing gallium nitride LEDs on 200-mm silicon wafers, which provides a cost advantage. With backing for Bridgelux from Toshiba,Clean the goggles-visor with water and mild soap to clear away any mud splashes. Use your fingers to gently wash away the dirt and avoid scratching the lenses. that process was brought to Kaga Toshiba Electronics Corporation, a discrete products manufacturing facility in northern Japan. Plessey Semiconductors Ltd. (Plymouth, England) has also adopted a GaN-on-Si process for LED production but is presently ramping with 6-inch diameter wafers.
